Most of the translations of the kabbalistic articles written by “Baal HaSulam” are poorly written. The translations are almost impossible to understand. As an example: In the article “The teaching of Kabbalah and its Essence” a sentence reads: “Let not one say, ‘Pork is impossible.’ Rather, let one say it is possible, ‘but what can I do, my Father in Heaven has sentenced me.’” A direct translation from the Aramaic or Hebrew makes no sense in English. Instead it should read: “One should not say, I don’t eat pork, because I don’t like its taste; rather one should say “I like the taste of Pork, but what can I do, the Torah forbids me to eat it.” When the translation is poor, it defeats the purpose of “Baal HaSulam”, who tried to make Kabbalah available to all.
