“Out of the blue,” Dorothy Williamson better known as “Dot” to her friends finds financial means to attend WE!
The 62 year old grandmother was “so broke” that she was walking to the bank to defer her mortgage payment so she had money to pay for her puppy’s shots. Like so many of us, she had declared a bankruptcy following the financial collapse. With puppy in tow, she entered the bank and was warmly greeted by an employee who casually asked Dot how she was doing. A couple of hours later, Dorothy walked out of the bank with a brand new mortgage, additional monthly income, and enough extra money to travel to New Jersey for WE!
Dorothy is a Canadian living about 800 miles north of Toronto. She graduated from the BB Learning Center in the spring of 2010 and describes her discovery of Kabbalah as an “ahah moment” and “a gift from above that lets you know you’re on the right track.” Dorothy says that “Kabbalah takes you from feeling terrible to the understanding that life is wonderful.” She urges everyone to “relax – everything is under control and everything has a purpose.”
WE! is Dorothy’s first Convention and she’ll be helping out with the children. You can meet Dorothy in person by registering for the 2011 World Kabbalah Convention here!
On March 13th, 2011 Rav Laitman taught an afternoon lesson during which he described the principles of “the whole of our work.” He recommends that everyone including newcomers watch it, and watch it again if you attended the lesson live.
On the archive, the lesson is titled “Virtual Lesson in Russian. Fundamentals of Kabbalah.”
Women from the St. Louis Kabbalah Study Center gather to bake a WE! cake in parallel with women worldwide.
The initiative is one of several actions recommended by the International Women’s Committee of Bnei Baruch to promote unity in preparation for the WE! Convention. The women’s groups from the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, St, Louis and Toronto Kabbalah Centers agreed to bake cakes in their respective cities and take photographs. The pictures will be assembled into a video clip for presentation at the Convention. Pictured left to right are Riggan Shilstone, Nicci Osunshinnin, Beth Shillington, and Judy Hobart.
